Eco Brand Transparency Hub
01 — Overview
Eco Brand is a sustainable fashion company that wanted to differentiate themselves by providing radical transparency about their supply chain, materials, and environmental impact — proving rather than just claiming their sustainability credentials.
02 — The Challenge
Consumers were increasingly skeptical of greenwashing claims in the fashion industry. Eco Brand needed a way to verifiably demonstrate their environmental commitments. The challenge was making complex supply chain data accessible and engaging for everyday consumers without overwhelming them.
03 — Research
I surveyed 200 consumers about their trust in sustainability claims and found 78% were skeptical. I analysed 10 competitor transparency pages and identified that the most effective ones used storytelling over statistics. User interviews with 15 eco-conscious shoppers revealed they wanted proof, not promises.
04 — UX Process
I designed a product-page-integrated transparency experience. The key insight was to make the supply chain journey feel like storytelling, not data reporting. Wireframes went through 6 iterations, with the breakthrough being an interactive map that users could explore at their own pace.
05 — UI Design
The design uses a clean, magazine-style layout with large photography and infographics. Each product page features an interactive supply chain map, certification badges, and real-time environmental impact metrics. The design balances data density with visual breathing room.
06 — Testing & Iteration
A/B testing with 500 users showed the interactive supply chain map increased time-on-page by 3 minutes. Trust scores improved by 92% when verified certifications were displayed alongside product information. Mobile testing confirmed the map interaction worked smoothly on touch devices.
07 — Final Solution
A transparency platform that visualizes the complete product journey from raw material sourcing to finished garment. Each product page features an interactive supply chain map, real-time environmental impact metrics, verified certification badges, worker welfare information, and carbon footprint calculations.
08 — Outcome
Customer trust score increased by 92%. Checkout completion rate improved by 67%. Average order value increased by 38%. Social sharing of product pages increased by 200%. Return rate decreased by 28% due to better-informed purchases.
09 — What I Learned
This project taught me that transparency is a design challenge, not just a data challenge. The raw supply chain data existed — the hard part was making it meaningful and emotionally resonant for consumers who had learned to ignore sustainability claims.
